Preparation

Inspired by Kronk's spinach puffs from Disney's The Emperor's New Groove

Adapted from Lil' Luna

  1. Preheat oven to 400℉. Spray 8 cups in a muffin pan with cooking spray.

  2. Microwave cream cheese until soft and melted. Add egg, oil, and cheese. Mix until well combined.

  3. Stir in spinach and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Cut pastry sheet into 8 squares. Line each muffin cup with one cut square. Evenly divide the spinach mixture among the cups. Bring the four pastry points together to cover the filling and lightly press them together.

  5. Melt butter in the microwave. While still warm, combine melted butter with the honey and brush across the top of each pastry.

  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until pastry is golden and puffy. Allow to cool in muffin pan then use a knife to loosen the pastry from the pan and remove.

  7. Top with additional honey butter, if desired, before serving.
