Preparation
Preheat oven to 400℉. Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and lightly grease with cooking spray. Set aside.
Make meatballs: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion, bread crumbs, and egg. Mix well by hand.
Use a food scale to measure 2 ounces of ground meat mixture. Roll into a ball and place onto prepared baking tray. Repeat with remaining ground meat, should have 12 meatballs in total.
Bake meatballs in oven for 20-25 minutes, or until meatballs are browned and cooked through. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly on the baking tray. Leave oven on.
Assemble sliders: Place meatballs into a medium bowl. Pour sauce into bowl and mix well to completely cover meatballs.
Re-line baking tray with aluminum foil and lightly grease with cooking spray. Separate the roll tops from the bottoms and put both on the tray, cut-side up.
Use a basting brush to brush the tops (cut-side) with melted butter.
Cut the mozzarella slices into quarters. Put one quarter on the bottom half of the roll.
Scoop one meatball over the cheese slice. Cover with a little more sauce, if desired, then top with a second quarter of cheese. Repeat with remaining cheese and meatballs.
Bake in the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and rolls are browned.
Remove from oven and top meatball with toasted roll top. Enjoy!
