Savory Parselmouth Snakes (Crescent Wrapped Sausages)

  • 1 package of sausage links or hotdogs

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll rough

  • 1 red bell pepper

  • Raisins, for eyes

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉. Line two baking trays with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a cutting board. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips, about ½-inch wide.

  3. Wrap the dough around each sausage, leaving the ends exposed. Place each wrapped sausage onto the prepared baking trays.

  4. Bake the sausages in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden and the sausage is warmed through.

  5. While the sausages are baking, thinly slice the bell pepper. Use a paring knife to cut a small “fork” at the end of each for tongues. Cut each raisin in half.

  6. Remove the sausages from the oven and cool. Cut a small slit into one end and push the red pepper tongue through with the forked end outward.

  7. Gently push the raisin halves into the sausage, with the cut-side against the sausage, for the eyes. Enjoy!
